Rodent Control Services

Initial Inspection
After taking some details over the phone, we will arrange a convenient time to come out and visually assess the premises. This initial inspection provides us with the information we need to devise a suitable plan to effectively rid your property of all unwanted rodents.

Rodent Removal Treatment Plan
The plan we create includes our assessment of the scale and scope of your infestation, as well as details of the elimination methods we think will be most effective.
We'll also include information on any remedial work that's required (such as blocking off obvious rodent routes from outside) to minimise reinfestation risk.

Rodent Bait Stations
Bait stations are a method of eliminating rodents that is also safe for use around pets, children and non-target species. Poisoned bait is placed in a secure box that can be accessed by rodents, but not by anything larger. We check and empty these periodically.

Rodent Traps
Traps are a fast and effective way of removing rodents. We place the traps where the rodents are most likely to come across them, baiting them with an attractant that most rodents find irresistible.

Ongoing Control
As part of our infestation treatment process, we will also put in place long-term control. When an infestation is particularly large, or there is a high risk of further rodents accessing the premises, control measures can nip the problem in the bud. Ongoing control includes a range of measures aimed at keeping population numbers low.
Why It's Important To Remove Rats And Mice
If you're got rodents on your premises, it's important to get rid of them promptly. Rodents are bad news for all sorts of reasons, including:
- Rodents can spread several unpleasant viruses and bacteria, including rat-bite fever, leptospirosis, LCMV, salmonella and campylobacter.
- They can cause significant structural damage to your property.
- They can contaminate foodstuffs.
- Rodents, like other pests, breed rapidly. Infestations can rapidly get out of hand unless prompt action is taken.
- They can cause damage to appliances, furniture, floor coverings and other items.
- They can cause compromised air quality due to odours from droppings, or blocked A/C due to a nest.
How To Minimize The Risk Of Rats And Mice Returning
Take the following steps to rodent-proof your property:
- Inspect the exterior and repair any holes, cracks or other methods of entry.
- Install pipe guards to prevent unauthorised entry.
- Store all foodstuffs in rat-proof containers or a fridge/freezer.
- Clean surfaces and floors thoroughly so no food scraps remain.
- Dispose of food waste responsibly.
- Keep your waste bins (which should be rat-proof) some distance from your property.
How Can I Tell If I Have A Rodent Infestation?
Rats and mice are very good at concealing their presence, so signs may not be obvious until the infestation is advanced. Signs of rodent occupation include:
- Unusual noises (scurrying, gnawing etc).
- Evidence of tampering with foodstuffs.
- Droppings
- Damage to property (such as plaster dust, holes in textile items or gnawed surfaces).
- Catching sight of a rat or mouse - they are most active between dusk and dawn.
